A note from our Board Chair

Tom Burke, Interim Executive DirectorOn behalf of the Interfaith Outreach Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Burke (photo, right) as Interim Executive Director following the recent departure of Greg Hilding for personal reasons.

Tom is an ardent and longtime supporter of Interfaith Outreach. He is a past Board Chair (2015-2018), he was a member of the Executive Director search committee and he currently sits on the Development Committee. Tom is a 30+ year corporate veteran who has held leadership positions as CEO, COO and EVP in operations, business development, portfolio management, project management, P&L, sales and marketing. His deep commitment to our mission and our shared work will enable us to build momentum at this critical point in our organization’s history.

Greg replaced our Founder & Executive Director Emerita LaDonna Hoy following 40 years at our helm. In his months at Interfaith Outreach, Greg Hilding made significant contributions. He boldly led the organization in implementing an operational model that allows us to continue to serve our community while prioritizing the health and safety of staff, clients and volunteers. Due to personal reasons, it was necessary for Greg to end his leadership journey at Interfaith Outreach much sooner than we all had hoped. It is with gratitude for his service and commitment to our mission that we wish him all the best.

The Board of Directors will proceed with a search for a new Executive Director. We will re-engage the nonprofit executive search firm Cohen Taylor and a search committee will be formed to do this work.

Rima Torgerson, Chair

At Interfaith Outreach, we believe in dismantling racism. We know that no single day, no single action is enough to heal the deep wounds left by systemic racism, and we are confident that when we engage in meaningful activities, reflecting both as individuals and as a collective, we can make change. Interfaith staff are working through, processing and committing to continued anti-racist efforts... Tell me more »
