We are thrilled to welcome Interfaith's new Executive Director, Kevin Ward! Our new leader has a passion for our mission and an outstanding record of leadership in both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. While the pandemic prevents the kind of gathering we'd all wish to welcome Kevin, opportunities to connect with him will be developed and communicated as we enter the new year ahead. Until then, get to know a bit more about our new leader by watching a recent fireside chat with Kevin and LaDonna.

The Sleep Out campaign is 66% to its goal of raising $2.6 million before Dec. 31. We're excited to announce a new match for gifts made this month up to $40,000. Please give online to prevent homelessness for our neighbors and keep the momentum going strong! When you take action by donating, fundraising, sleeping out (or in), or planting a yard sign - we’ll add a star to our Sleep Out night sky in your honor. As of the last update, we have 1,346 stars to brighten the sky! Check back now through Dec. 31 to watch the sky light up with our collective compassion.

Affordable housing is under constant threats from changing economic forces. Join the community conversation as we screen the TPT documentary titled Sold Out: Affordable Housing at Risk. Choose one of two sessions: Tuesday, Dec. 15, 7-8:30 p.m. or Wednesday, Dec. 16, 8-9:30 a.m. The screening will be followed by a community conversation about local challenges and solutions. Spread the word for this free event and invite family, friends, colleagues! (Share the Facebook event.) Please RSVP by Monday, Dec. 14 at 5 p.m. All are welcome.

RSVP by Dec. 14

Shop with a Purpose is an annual Sleep Out tradition. Stay close to home and do your holiday shopping (in person or online), dining (takeout only) and last-minute shipping on Thursday, Dec. 17 and Friday, Dec. 18. There are 27 generous businesses donating a portion of their sales to Interfaith on those two days. Shop local and feel good knowing your purchases will help prevent homelessness for our neighbors. Check out our business partners, mark your calendar and share the Facebook event!

Throughout her life, Britta McGuire has done service projects for Interfaith Outreach, many related to the food shelf. But she tells us it wasn’t until she joined a women’s networking group that she learned food is really only the tip of the iceberg of services Interfaith provides. She says, “It’s a place I know my time and financial contributions are directly benefitting my neighbors.”
